the I-Ching. Each of the different areas of the club has a different element
as a theme,
with a different graphic style to portray it. This project was really great fun

The
Boom is over, so I can finally post all of the graphic material
created for the event.
(Wasn't allowed to post this material before because of possible forgeries made
from
the images...)
For those of you who didnt have the opportunity to go... Go to the 2008 edition.
Even
if you dont really enjoy Psy-Trance music, even if you dont like camping,
you
have to go to the Boom.
Its one of the best organized festivals around, with plenty of things to do,
see and hear.
I heard a lot of nicknames for the event (everything from
Disneyland
for Freaks, Trustafarian Resort and Pirate Island)
but you should go and see
for yourself - its a truly unique gathering
of some of the most excentric people
that roam this planet.
You'll have a very good time for sure. |

The
Dance Floor
The main concept for this edition of the Boom was "the Tree of
Life", depicted in the logo,
and an actual 10m tall tree was built in the middle of the main
dance floor. |

By initiative of the decor team, the entire floor was covered in a
shading mesh
replicating the aboriginal dot-graphix from the poster.

colour was given out
for each of the 5 days.

“A Índia enlouquece ou os loucos é que vão à Índia?”
Um psiquiatra, Régis Airault, constatou que, de Mumbai a Goa,
de Deli a Pondichéry, um verdadeira síndroma indiano atinge
todos os Ocidentais – na sua maior parte adolescentes e jovens
adultos – que vão a este país. Aí, mais do
que em qualquer outro lugar e de uma forma mais espectacular, parece
que a nossa identidade vacila.
Pessoas até então indemnes a qualquer desordem psiquiátrica
sentem subitamente, sem tomar drogas, um sentimento de estranheza e perdem
contacto com a realidade. O mais curioso é que quase todos estes
problemas não têm continuação. Chegado a casa,
o viajante guarda mesmo deles uma boa recordação e, algum
tempo mais tarde, não tem senão uma ideia na cabeça:
voltar à Índia…
Então o que é que nos atrai na Índia? Porque é que
lá somos tão frágeis? E o que nos ensina sobre nós
mesmos esta experiência, que transforma em profundidade a nossa
visão do mundo?

I was really glad to hear that Goa Gil was coming back to Portugal to
play, so that i could close the story from last year's flyer. The point
being, one of the little girls in the previous flyer was playing with
a little turtle, at the time I knew if the chance to create a second
image for that series it would have to be with the now-fully-grown-turtle...
